Sept. 28 Easton Craft Fair Offers Art, Live Music, Food
The 3rd annual Easton Fall Craft Fair will take place Saturday, September 28, from 10 am to 3 pm on the grounds of Trinity Cathedral at 315 Goldsborough St. in downtown Easton. A great place to kick off your holiday gift shopping, it will be a festive celebration of handmade crafts featuring work from nearly 40 makers and regional artisans. Admission is free.

This year's event features live outdoor music performances starting at 11 a.m. with Fiddle Jam Trio, an old-time string band with Dave Moore on banjo and guitar, Beth Roesel on fiddles, and Phil Toussaint on mandolin and guitar. At 1 pm, Julie Parsons of the Julie Parsons Project will be playing jazz standards, along with her husband, vocalist Darrell Parsons.

Dozens of indoor and outdoor booths will showcase artistic work in various categories, from woodworking and pottery to painting, jewelry and fiber arts. There will be plenty of food, including a bake sale and hot dog stand.

“Many creative artists are bringing unique items this year,” said Leslie Walker, fair coordinator. “We hope everyone will stop by and talk to our vendors about their work. This is a community celebration of hand-crafted art, with many Chesapeake-themed items showcased.”

Fair proceeds will benefit a valuable community outreach program - the Easton English School at Trinity, which offers free classes in English on Wednesday nights and is staffed by volunteer teachers and assistants.

In the event of rain, the fair will be rescheduled for Saturday, October 5. For more information, send email to eastonfallcraftfair@gmail.com.
